Risk
Undersized arrays
Use hourly tools or oversize when clouds and snow matter.
Inverter kW
Not in kWh math
Peak power can drive inverter and battery C-rate choices.
$/kWh
Market-dependent
Reflect warranty and cycle life in your unit price assumptions.
BOS
Fixed $ line
Roll small hardware into fixed BOS or into $/W if you prefer.
Cost
Add explicitly
Many off-grid homes keep a generator for rare deep-charge events.

Daily AC load in kilowatt-hours is divided by the product of peak sun hours and a performance ratio derived from lumped percent losses to estimate DC array nameplate in kilowatts. Nominal battery storage equals daily load times autonomy days divided by usable depth of discharge as a fraction. Solar subsystem cost is array kilowatts times one thousand times dollars per watt; battery subsystem cost is nominal kilowatt-hours times dollars per kilowatt-hour; a fixed line adds balance-of-system items. The sum is a screening total for early budgeting.
