How Our Volume Conversion Tool Works

The volume conversion tool makes converting between the volume units easy. We automatically display the result in the most popular units, but if you need more, you can select different unit types from the dropdown menus. Have you ever wondered how many cups there are in a pint? Or do you need to calculate the tablespoons in a cup or change pints to quarts? The volume converter can do it for you in real time.

How to Use the Calculator

Step 1: Enter Volume

Enter a volume value in any of the available units: milliliters, liters, gallons, quarts, pints, cups, fluid ounces, tablespoons, or teaspoons. You can enter the value in whichever unit is most convenient for you.

Step 2: Select Unit Type (if applicable)

For units that have multiple variants (gallons, quarts, pints, cups, fluid ounces), select the appropriate type from the dropdown menu. For example, choose between US gallons and UK gallons, or between different cup types (US customary, US legal, UK/AU/CA/ZA).

Step 3: View Results

All other volume fields will automatically update to show equivalent values in their respective units. The conversion happens instantly as you type or change values.

How to Find the Volume in a Different Unit

Let's imagine that you want to bake a cake, but the problem is that the recipe comes from a different part of the world. You are used to your standard units, such as cups or pints, but you have no idea how much is 550 ml of milk. What can you do? Put that value in the calculator next to the milliliters unit, and immediately you will get the answer in cups (2.32), pints (1.16), or even teaspoons (110) if you wish.

Example: Converting 550 ml

550 ml = 2.32 cups (US customary)

550 ml = 1.16 pints (US)

550 ml = 110 teaspoons

550 ml = 0.55 liters

550 ml = 0.145 gallons (US)
